We've got an ideal climate and plans to keep it that way.

Yuba County enjoys a temperate "Mediterranean" type climate, characterized by hot and dry summers and cool wet winters.  Success with growing grapes and olives in the county is a visible sign of this climate in the general landscape.  The weather is cooler in summer and colder and more moist in the winter as you travel up into the mountains, for example, from Marysville to Dobbins to Strawberry Valley.

Winter storms are normally short-lived and snow levels rarely reach Yuba County’s elevation. The nearby mountains and ski resorts, however, receive significant annual snowfall.

The Yuba County region proactively works to maintain a healthy, clean air quality. The Feather River Air Quality Management District serves as the lead air quality planning agency and works to develop effective and cost-efficient air quality planning initiatives with input from local governments, the private sector, stakeholder groups, and citizens.
