About Us
One of the original California counties, Yuba County is rich in resources and ripe for development.
Centrally located in Northern California, just 30 minutes from the state capital, Yuba County is a vital transportation hub for state highways 20, 65 and 70 and only minutes from Interstate 5 and 80. Close proximity to Sacramento International Airport makes it an ideal location for manufacturing, warehousing, transportation and other business operations.
Additionally, Yuba County's general aviation airport features a 6,006-foot primary runway and 3,281-foot crosswind runway with capabilities to accommodate jet air carriers, freight carriers and private aircraft. This airport serves the county's largest industrial park. Union Pacific Railroad connects Yuba County with the nation's railway system.
Agriculture production, the county's largest industry, was valued at $221.5 million in 2016.
Very attractive median housing values at $190,000 (less than half that of the state average) helps explain the annual population growth of 1.5 percent which exceeds that of both the state and nation. This rapid population growth, without aligned retail and commercial development has created a $581 million retail leakage and makes Yuba County prime for investment.
The county's commitment to its residents comes in many forms but none more important than safety. More than $400 million was invested in the levee system providing 100-year flood protection certification in 2010. Current levee improvements will provide 200-year flood protection which are estimated to be completed in 2021 or 2022.
